Official Rules
- No purchase is necessary to register/win.
- March Mania is open to legal U.S. citizens age 18 years or older
living within the immediate broadcast area of WSTW and WDEL.
- March Mania is a joint promotion of WSTW.com and WDEL.com.
Entries from both websites will be judged and scored collectively,
without regard to the site of origin.
- Tournament Grid Contest: The NCAA March Madness Tournament
field is posted. You enter this contest by submitting an entry to
WSTW.com or WDEL.com containing your picks for the Tournament. You
first pick which teams you think will win in the 1st round games.
The 2nd Round games are determined by your picks for 1st Round
winners. The 3rd Round games are determined by your picks for 2nd
Round winners. And so on, until a final winner is picked.
- All entries must be received by 11:30am on Thursday, March 20th,
2008.
- You may only submit one entry to this contest. If more than one
entry from the same person is found, only the first submission will
be accepted.
- Scoring:Entries are judged on a points basis.
Each team that you pick correctly will generate points for you in
the following manner:
- Round 1 each correct team: 1 point (32 points possible)
- Round 2 each correct team: 2 points (32 points possible)
- Round 3 each correct team: 5 points (40 points possible)
- Round 4 each correct team: 10 points (40 points possible)
- Round 5 each correct team: 20 points (40 points possible)
- Final Round pick the winner: 25 points
- Total possible points: 209
- Prizes: At the end of the NCAA Tournament,
the player with the highest total score will receive
a 3 day / 2 night Breakaway vacation for two to the
destination of your choice. Destinations available
throughout the United States and around the world.
Transportation not included. Some restrictions apply.
Travel must be completed by January 31, 2009.
- Weekly Contest: Each week of the NCAA March Madness Tournament,
one game will be selected as a "Spotlight Game". To play, submit an
entry including how many total points you think will be scored in
that game.
- Entries must be received one hour prior to the start of the
Spotlight Game.
- You may play each week of the Tournament, but you may only
submit one entry for each Spotlight Game. If more than one
entry from the same person is found, only the first submission
will be accepted.
- Scoring: The two entries that comes closest to
the actual total points scored in the Spotlight Game without
going over are the winners. In the event several entries
have the same score and could thus be considered winners, a
random drawing of all eligible entries will be held to determine
that week's winners.
- Prizes: The players who are determined to be
the winner for that week will receive a $50 Gift Certificate to
Stanley's Tavern.
- WSTW & WDEL are not responsible for lost entries, technical
difficulties, acts of God, and any other issues that may cause
problems with playing the contest.
- Employees, agents, successors, assignees, advertising agencies,
promotional companies, immediate family members, household members,
sponsors, agents, affiliates, parent companies, vendors, suppliers
of WDEL/WSTW, Delmarva Broadcasting Company, Advantage Autoland,
Stanley's Tavern, and others acting on their behalf are ineligible to
participate.
- Prize Winners waive any and all claims of liability against the
contest sponsors for any damages, injuries, or other losses which
relate directly to the contest.
- Prize Winners are responsible for paying any and all taxes
associated with the prizes.
- Prize Winners' names and their likenesses may be used by WSTW &
WDEL for promotional purposes without further compensation to
winners.
- Void where prohibited by law.
- WSTW & WDEL reserve the right to disqualify any entry for any
reason.
- Judges' decisions are final.
- Rules subject to change without notice.
