Officials stated the case is tied to a longer pattern of behavior. According to investigators, the woman had been the subject of prior complaints involving repeated contact, threats, and property damage. Court records show Buckingham previously secured a restraining order in 2024 after reporting ongoing harassment.
Prosecutors allege the situation escalated over time. In addition to the recent incident, the suspect is accused of making a false emergency call that sent police to Buckingham’s home, a tactic commonly referred to as swatting. Authorities say these actions contributed to the severity of the charges now filed.
