Chart records show the single became Carey’s 11th No. 1 hit on the Hot 100. At the time, that tied her with Whitney Houston and Madonna for the most No. 1 songs among women.
Always Be My Baby was released from Carey’s 1995 album Daydream. The album had already produced Fantasy, which spent eight weeks at No. 1, and One Sweet Day with Boyz II Men, which held the top spot for 16 weeks.
