Universal Pictures has announced that the upcoming biographical film about Snoop Dogg will arrive in theaters on August 6, 2027. The project brings one of hip hop’s most recognizable artists to the big screen with a story based on his life and career.
The announcement also confirmed that Jonathan Daviss will play Snoop Dogg. Craig Brewer is directing the film, which follows the rapper’s journey from his early years to becoming a global music and entertainment figure. Snoop Dogg is involved as a producer alongside other members of the production team.
The movie is being developed through Death Row Pictures as part of its partnership with NBCUniversal. It also marks the first film released under that agreement, highlighting the company’s move into feature filmmaking.
