Roxette has canceled its planned North American tour, citing logistical challenges and the rising cost of touring across the United States and Canada.
In a statement announcing the decision, the band said Live Nation USA determined that the scheduled concerts could not move forward under the current financial conditions. Per Gessle expressed disappointment, noting that North America has long been an important market for Roxette and its music.
The tour was planned as part of the group’s 40th-anniversary celebrations. Gessle was set to perform with Swedish singer Lena Philipsson, who has joined Roxette’s current live lineup. Taylor Dayne and Nick Lowe were also expected to appear as special guests at selected shows.
