2024 FIREWORKS

Here is a list of local 4th of July festivities, compiled by our sister station, WDEL.com.

DELAWARE

Bethany Beach – July 4 – Bethany’s 40th celebration of Independence Day returns to July 4 after last year’s beach replenishment force the postponement of the fireworks. There will be a parade at noon, with awards being handed out at 7:15 before The 1974 take the Bandstand stage. Fireworks will launch at dusk, visible anywhere along the ocean beaches.

Cape May-Lewes Ferry – July 3

Fireworks will illuminate the skies above the Delaware Bay. This event is already SOLD OUT.

Dewey Beach – July 4

Fireworks at dusk, viewable from anywhere in Dewey.

Dover – July 4

In downtown Dover on Independence Day, visitors can view the fireworks at around 9:15 p.m. Other activities will be happening throughout the day, starting at 10 a.m.

Hockessin – July 4

Main viewing area is located at Swift Park, Piedmont Baseball Fields, Hockessin Library and Artesian Soccer Fields.

Earlier in the day, roads will close 1:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. for the 3 p.m. parade. Roads Closed: Old Lancaster Pike from Kenwick Rd to Valley Rd.

Middletown – July 4

Millsboro – June 29

Fireworks at 9pm at cupola Park, Morris St. at Hunters Point

Newark – July 4

Great food, entertainment and one of Delaware’s best annual pyrotechnic shows will take place on Thursday, July 4, at the University of Delaware’s Athletic Complex. Beginning at 6 p.m., the event will feature live entertainment and art, food and community vendors, concluding with an amazing firework display at dusk.

This year Jersey Cornpickers will take the stage at 6 p.m., playing popular blue grass and original blue grass music. Mike Hines and The Look will hit the stage at 7:45 p.m. leading into the fireworks at dusk.

Free parking is available in the University of Delaware Athletic Complex lots, including those surrounding the UD Stadium and Bob Carpenter Center, as well as the Woods Lot (off of Route 4) and the STAR Campus north and south parking lots.

Alcohol is not permitted during the event, and the community is asked to leave pets at home and be sure they are secured safely during the fireworks display, as the noise can frighten animals. 

The rain date for fireworks and musical entertainment is Friday, July 5. If weather is questionable, please call the Leisure Time hotline at (302) 366-7147.

Smyrna/Clayton – July 4

There will be a parade beginning at 9:30 a.m. in Clayton. The fireworks will begin at dusk at the little league fields across from Smyrna High School.

Rehoboth Beach – July 6

Fireworks show along the beach and Boardwalk. Fireworks start about 9:30 p.m., and a live band will be performing before the fireworks starting at 8 and then will reclaim the stage after they are over. 

Wilmington – July 4

Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park will have festivities in Wilmington beginning at 4 p.m., while the fireworks display will happen around 9:30 p.m. Rain date is July 5.

PENNSYLVANIA

Philadelphia – July 4

Fireworks will be held along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway at the art museum on the 4th at 9:45 p.m. From June 19th until July 4, free activities and concerts will be available. Check out VisitPhilly.com for more. 

Aston Township – July 4th

Fireworks at dusk at Sun Valley High School, 2881 Pancoast Ave in Aston

Bethel Township – July 3

Fireworks at dusk at Bethel Springs Elementary School, 3280 Foulk Road, in Garnet Valley

East Goshen Twp. – June 29th

Fireworks at dusk during Community Day in East Goshen Township Park, 1661 Paoli Pike, West Chester

Ridley Park – July 6th

Fireworks at dusk at Ridley Park Lake in Ridley Park

NEW JERSEY

Atlantic City – June 28 & July 4

A fireworks show will be held at 9:30 p.m. in North Atlantic City on June 28. Then at 10 p.m. on July 4 at the Tropicana along the boardwalk, fireworks can also be seen. AtlanticCityNJ.com has more.  

Cape May – July 4

Fireworks can be seen along the beach in front of Congress Hall at dusk. A rain date has not been announced. 

Ocean City – July 4

Fireworks will be starting at 9 and can be seen from the boardwalk. Other activities will be held around town July 4th, such as 3 separate bike parades, kite flying competition, and the Ocean City Pops will have a free outdoor concert.

Wildwood – July 4

Fireworks are visible from anywhere on the Boardwalk at 10 p.m. and are launched from Pine Avenue and the Beach. Rain date is July 5.

MARYLAND

Baltimore – July 4

Baltimore | Baltimore’s annual July 4 celebration will return this year at the Inner Harbor, but exact plans have not been released yet. 

Chesapeake City– July 5

Pell Gardens will host events featuring live music and varying vendors starting at 5 p.m. Fireworks begin at dusk.

Chestertown – July 4

Wilmer Park Waterfront will be hosting the fireworks this year at dusk.

Havre de Grace – July 6

 A performance by “Doc Marten and the Flannels” begins at 7:30 p.m. The Maryland Military Band at Concord Point Park will perform at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks may be viewed all along the shoreline in Havre de Grace and in throughout the city.

Ocean City – July 4 & 5

Ocean Pines – July 4

The Recreation and Parks Department, Overland Timing and Run Sign Up will host the Annual Freedom 5K starting at 8 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. Awards will be given for several age groups. Online preregistration is $30.

Later that day, the department will host the annual July 4th Celebration and Fireworks. Enjoy carnival games, music, food and more from 4-8:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. Admission is free and wristbands are $15. Fireworks are scheduled to launch just after dark. Attendees may bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Rock Hall – July 3

This year’s fireworks display will be held by the town fire department over the harbor, beginning around 9 p.m.

Salisbury – July 4

James M. Bennett High School will host this year’s display for “Red, White, and Boom” at about 9:15 p.m.
