According to a statement shared on his social media, Australian singer Daryl Braithwaite has announced that he is stepping away from live performances after nearly 60 years on stage.
Braithwaite said it had become increasingly physically challenging for him to sing comfortably, and that performing no longer brought him the same joy it once did.
He first rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Sherbet before building a successful solo career that made him one of Australia’s most recognizable singers. Over the years, he became closely associated with songs including “The Horses,” which remains one of his best-known recordings.
