Sheryl Crow is heading back to the Cars universe with a new collection of music for the upcoming animated series Cars: Lightning Racers.
During Disney’s D23 fan event on August 15, Crow introduced Built to Last, the theme song for the new series. The appearance also included a performance of Real Gone, her song from the original 2006 Cars movie, reconnecting her with the franchise two decades later.
Crow’s role in the project extends beyond the opening theme. She has written 10 additional songs for Cars: Lightning Racers, giving the series a substantial amount of original music from the singer and songwriter.
