The 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala brought several generations of music history together Friday night at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, with Janet Jackson among the evening’s central honorees.
At the ceremony, Jackson’s landmark 1989 album Rhythm Nation 1814 was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. The recognition placed new attention on one of her most influential projects, known for pairing polished pop and R&B production with songs focused on social issues, identity and unity.
The event also honored a wide range of recordings across rock, funk, gospel, hip-hop, Americana and Latin music. Heart performed during the evening, while George Clinton joined Erykah Badu and Blackbyrd McKnight for a tribute tied to Parliament-Funkadelic’s legacy.
