Foo Fighters take the right kind of trip to celebrate Tuesday’s (4/20) holidaze in their brand new “Chasing Birds” visual.
The animated video shows Dave Grohl waking up alone in a barren desert where suddenly his eyes deceive him everywhere he looks, from the road to hell being paved with broken body parts to bleeding hearts spilling out like a waterfall. After being swallowed whole by the ground they were once performing on, the dismembered band members piece themselves back together and slowly but surely make their way out of the dark mythological forest with colorful, multi-eyed creatures that look like they’re straight out of Monsters, Inc.
The song comes off the rock band’s 10th studio album Medicine at Midnight, which earned the group its fifth No. 1 album on Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums chart earlier this year.
Fans can take a different kind of trip with the Foo Fighters in the upcoming Grohl-directed touring documentary What Drives Us, which will be released exclusively on the music-centric Coda Collection streaming service in the U.S. and Amazon Prime Video in select global markets beginning on April 30. Grohl and his mother, Virginia, are also launching their six-part series From Cradle to Stage, which explores the relationships between successful musicians and their mothers. It launches May 6 on Paramount+.
