Latin artists such as Elvis Crespo, Emilio Estefan Jr. and José Luis Rodríguez “El Puma” have taken to social media to share with their millions of followers their COVID-19 vaccination experience.
Estefan was among the first to get vaccinated right before entering 2021. “I wanted to be the first one to do it because I feel you have to set up an example and be able to send a beautiful message to a lot of people and save a lot of lives,” the Cuban-American producer said back in December.
Merengue star Crespo shared the vaccination process where he sang a re-imagined version of his hit song “Suavemente.” As he pulled up to get the vaccine, he told the nurse, “Suavemente, puyame … que no me duela, que no me duela (gently, poke me, I hope it doesn’t hurt me).”

Since the U.S. COVID-19 vaccine rollout began, more than 96 million people, or 29.1% of the U.S. population, have been fully inoculated, according to the CDC.
Below is a list of artists who have shared their COVID-19 vaccination experience on social media.
Gloria Trevi (April)
“The day I got the second COVID-19 vaccine, I was sad for three days,” the Mexican singer-songwriter captioned her Instagram video showing off her bandage. “But then I felt normal. There are people that don’t have any side effects but everyone is different.”
Chayanne (April)
Puerto Rican singer Chayanne shared with his more than 5 million followers on Instagram that he has received his COVID-19 vaccine. “For me, for my family and for all of you,” he captioned the photo in which a nurse is administering the vaccine on his left shoulder.
Maluma (April)
“Vaccine done,” Maluma posted on Instagram showing off the bandaid on his left shoulder. “Papi Juancho Tour is coming,” he added.
In Feb., the Colombian star announced his 30-date U.S. and Puerto Rico arena tour – the biggest and most ambitious 2021 U.S. tour announced since the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.
Elvis Crespo (March)
“Vaccinated,” wrote Crespo. “I am happy with my vaccine.”
José Luis Rodríguez “El Puma” (February)
“I am vaccinated,” “El Puma” captioned his post. “In the name of God, I am thankful to science. The vaccine gives us hope so that the light trumps so many dark months. I am thankful to my personal doctor, Juan Carlos Del Valle, and the staff at Mount Sinai Miami.”

Emilio Estefan Jr. (December)
“After asking many questions to the doctors I trust, they all assured me that I could get the vaccine,” Estefan wrote on Instagram. “So today I decided to take the risk and get the vaccine to end this year, and together have a light of hope. After so many people who have lost their lives, who have been ill, who have had such a bad time due to different circumstances, I think that by doing this, it could be a way to return to normality. With faith we can achieve everything.”
