Oh, what a night!

Over the last year, movie theaters were closed and productions were halted, but as they say in Hollywood, the show must go on. Sunday, April 25 saw the 2021 Oscars take place, not one, but two months after they were originally scheduled to commence and, yes, things looked a bit different than usual.

Instead of rolling out the red carpet solely at Hollywood's Dolby Theater, where the ceremony had been hosted since 2002, the Academy also took over downtown Los Angeles' historic Union Station.

Additionally, satellite hubs sprinkled around the world allowed nominees stationed internationally to participate in the ceremony.

And the 93rd Academy Awards weren't just significant because of the new venues. Viewers saw Chloé Zhao, Yuh-Jung YounMia NealJamika Wilson and more stars make history in their respective categories, prompting celebration across social media.

In other words, it was the perfect ending to the 2021 awards season.
