Sakurazaka46’s second single “BAN” sold 405,360 copies in its first week to blast into No. 1 on this week’s Billboard Japan Hot 100, dated April 12 to 18. After leading physical sales and look-ups, the group formerly known as Keyakizaka46 logs its second No. 1 on the chart under its new name, performing well in other metrics including downloads (No. 3), Twitter mentions (No. 3), and radio airplay (No. 15).

Sakurazaka46’s previous release called “Nobody’s Fault,” released Dec. 9, 2020, sold 414,024 copies in its first week and is currently at 510,349 copies total. “BAN” is off to a close start, and its sales in the coming weeks is something to keep an eye on.

ONE OK ROCK’s “Renagades” debuts at No. 8 on the Japan Hot 100, collecting 30,656 downloads to lead the metric this week. This track, co-written by Ed Sheeran, is featured as the theme song of Ruroni Kenshin: The Final starring Takeru Sato. In other metrics, “Renagades” came in at No. 4 for Twitter, No. 36 for radio, No. 43 for streaming, and No. 85 for video views in its first week.
