Now she’s dropped a holiday single that finds her covering a Christmas rock classic.</p><p>Hudson <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DP4d9RPkYYN/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>recorded</a><strong> The Band</strong>’s song “<a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpa5iUKAGgM” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>Christmas Must Be Tonight</a>,” which <a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBlLN5HQJhY” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>originally appeared</a> on their 1977 album, <em>Islands. </em>It was<em> </em>their last album to feature the group’s original lineup. It was written by The Band’s guitarist, <strong>Robbie Robertson</strong>, and was partly inspired by the birth of his son.
