Seth Rogen joins 'Nobody Wants This' season 2 cast

Everyone wants this Nobody Wants This casting update.
Emmy winner Seth Rogen has joined the Netflix comedy's cast for season 2. Also joining him as a guest star in the upcoming season is Kate Berlant. Their respective roles are being kept under wraps.
“[Seth] and Kate Berlant’s energy together was a dream,” Nobody Wants This co-showrunner Jenni Konner told Netflix. “When you get brilliant people to come in, it makes your writing and the show better.”
Rogen and Berlant join Leighton Meester, Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky and Arian Moayed as guest stars for season 2.
“If we got lucky with our main cast, we got just as lucky with our guest stars,” the show's creator, Erin Foster, said.
Season 1 of Nobody Wants This followed unlikely couple Joanne (Kristen Bell), who is an agnostic podcaster, and Noah (Adam Brody), a rabbi, as they fell in love. Season 2 will further their connection and show how it affects their loved ones.
"Their spark proved stronger than all of the obstacles trying to keep them apart. Now, they’re back and fully committed to merging their lives – and loved ones — together," according to the season 2 synopsis. "But their differences still exist and can’t be ignored. The challenge now is not just falling in love against all odds, but staying together in spite of them."
Nobody Wants This season 2 arrives on Oct. 23.

'The Summer I Turned Pretty' creator Jenny Han shares new details on upcoming film

(SPOILER ALERT) The Summer I Turned Pretty creator Jenny Han is revealing details about the upcoming film that will continue the story of the beloved TV series.
Prime Video greenlit a feature film to conclude the story of Belly (Lola Tung), Conrad (Christopher Briney) and the rest of the Cousins Beach gang hours after the show's series finale debuted on Wednesday. Han shared new details about the planned film in an interview with Entertainment Weekly released Thursday.
The upcoming film will detail the only "big milestone" left in Belly's journey now that she has chosen to be with Conrad, Han says.
"As I was thinking about [the] third season, I really felt that the journey was so much about Belly's coming of age and in order to fully tell that story, we need to get to her reunion with Conrad," Han said. "It would've been like a quick tacked-on beat at the end to get to any of the stuff in the epilogue in the book. And I just really wanted to give its due. And we had also been through a whole season of Belly and Jeremiah's (Gavin Casalegno) wedding and I wanted to have space for whatever the next step is."
As for what to expect, Han teases "it's sort of what happens next. It's like, 'What happens when you are dating your ex's brother? And you have to see them and you have to be in their life still. What does that look like?'"
If fans are wondering when they can expect the film, Han says she and co-showrunner Sarah Kucserka have written something for the movie, but they're still in the early stages.
"We really wanted to give that surprise to the fans and not leave them in suspense, but it's still early on," Han said. "I know that some of them were hoping that it's already even filmed and that it would come out right away, but I honestly like having a little more time because I think there's something very special in the way that we've seen these characters grow up on screen."

Jonah Hauer-King, Zoey Deutch on their rom-com 'The Threesome'

A young man's fantasy becomes his worst nightmare in the new romantic comedy The Threesome.
The film, which is in select theaters now, stars Zoey Deutch, Jonah Hauer-King and Ruby Cruz as the titular trio whose night together leaves the two women with sobering consequences.
Hauer-King, who stars as Connor, told ABC Audio the film is a coming-of-age story for adults.
"We associate that sometimes with people who are teenagers or earlier in their 20s, and these are people that ostensibly are a little bit further on through life, but they're still very much working things out," Hauer-King said.
Connor aspires to "a type of love that he idolizes," Hauer-King said, which he found relatable.
"Over the course of the film, he learns that love is a really complex, deep thing, which is about accepting people's flaws and insecurities, and the challenges of the relationships and coming through them," Hauer-King said. "That's something that I myself have learned over the years."
Despite the perception that Deutch is the modern-day rom-com queen — she's the star of Netflix's Set it Up and Prime Video's Something from Tiffany's — the actress says she's only really starred in three, if you count The Threesome.
"It's not something that I sought after. If you count this as a rom-com, this is only my third one. But somehow, it seems like I've made a million. According to people, I have done only rom-coms. So if I'm being honest, I try not to do them. Because I've spent my whole life and career trying not to get pigeonholed," Deutch said.
That being said, Deutch is interested in stories about love.
"I love love, and falling in love is never the same. There's no two times that ever feel the same, and this was a particularly different falling in love story. And I thought [it] was really nuanced and special and different."

What's next for 'The Summer I Turned Pretty'?

(SPOILER ALERT) The Summer I Turned Pretty is being turned into a movie.
The story of the Prime Video romantic drama series will continue past its series finale with a new feature film. It will be written and directed by Jenny Han, who also created the show and wrote the book trilogy that inspired it.
"There is another big milestone left in Belly's journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due," Han says, referring to The Summer I Turned Pretty protagonist Isabel "Belly" Conklin. "I'm so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans."
The Summer I Turned Pretty follows the love triangle between Belly, played by Lola Tung, and brothers Conrad Fisher and Jeremiah Fisher, played by Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno. It premiered in 2022 and was originally announced to end with the final episode of season 3, which dropped Wednesday.
